Most countries in the country have seen themselves shut down with COVID-19 in the last few months. Many are working from home, while many are not working.

Whether any of them apply to you, now is not the time to stop your business marketing. If you stop now, will people remember you when the world returns to normal? Yes, it may sound harsh, but there is another business to take your place.

So, when you shut down the world and no one is doing anything, how do you market your business?

People are reading their emails and text messages because there is only one form of communication that you can have when you need to be at home and not go out.

However, you need to make sure that you remain sensitive to what is happening around us. Some people are struggling right now – personal and professional. In times like these, I suggest a light-hearted marketing approach. What does this mean?

  • This means that your content is all relevant, while sensitive to what is going on. There is a time and place for all types of content. Just keep that in mind.
  • Any news that is not necessary can wait. It will not last forever.
  • Use your belongings to make people smile – and think positively about yourself and your business.
  • If you have ways that can help you, do it!

Here are 3 easy, quick ways you can still market your business while everyone is quarantined…

Post on social media. Even more than usual.

Learned all about peak time for your audience and the best time to post is out the window right now. See your own social media usage – are you more on Facebook? Instagram too? If you are, whole social media is your market. If you post 1 or 2 times per day.

 Here are some ideas of things to post on social media:

Updates on your business and your employees. Show some videos or pictures of you and/or your employees and reduce them to show them all at once. It’s a shared experience for the whole world – show your fans what they are.

Is working in secret. Working on a new product? Planning a new service? When it’s over, give them something to move on.                

Fun suggestions or ideas of things they can do that relate to your business. Are you a salon? Share some home remedies to prevent your clients from cutting their hair. Are you a lawyer? Share some applicable tips that will help them. Have fun with it – everyone is avoiding social media for fun and distraction.

Ramp up your email marketing.

If you are actively engaged in email marketing, keep it up! If you are just as active, send some emails informing your customers, status updates, etc., referring to the resumed business.

Targeted Google and Social Media Advertising.

Use this time to take advantage of digital advertising. Do you have something you want your audience to see? Boost a post on Facebook! Is Your Business Good with Search Ads? Set up some targeted Google ads. Digital ads can be very cheap and will help put your business in front of people.
